HAVING AND BEING "THE ART OF LOVING"
While the having persons rely on what they have, the being persons rely on the fact that they are, that they are alive and that something new will be born if only they have the courage to let go and respond. They become fully alive in the conversation because they do not stifle themselves by anxious concern with what they have. Their own aliveness is infectious and often helps the other person to transcend his or her egocentricity. Thus the conversation ceases to be an exchange of commodities (information, knowledge, status) and becomes a dialogue in which it does not matter any more who is right. (Fromm 1979)

Memang "happy" ya rasanya kalau jatuh cinta, apalagi kalo orang yang kita cintai itu juga... Tapi memang, bagi pikiran yang waras, sulit mengakui sama sekali kekuatan cinta. Cinta nampak sebagai candu yang meracuni pikiran, omong kosong dan khayalan yang tidak ilmiah. Apapun pendapat orang mengenai cinta, kalo saya ditanya "Apa yang membuat Amelia sukses?" maka jawaban saya adalah karena CINTA.....
Cinta Tuhan, cinta orang tua saya, cinta adik saya, cinta kekasih saya, cinta orang-orang di sekitar saya, dan yang terlebih lagi, cinta saya untuk Tuhan, untuk keluarga, untuk kekasih, dan untuk orang-orang di sekitar saya dan untuk alam tempat saya tinggal ini.
